Accessibility

What we have built for, what we have tested, and what is not done yet.

The target

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a target we design and build against rather than a certification we claim.

What is implemented

  • Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Dialogs use the platform <dialog> element, so focus is trapped and the background is genuinely inert.
  • Text contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1; large text and UI boundaries meet 3:1. Colour is never the only way state is communicated.
  • Motion is disabled wherever the operating system reports a reduced-motion preference.
  • Zoom is not capped, and layouts reflow to 320px without horizontal scrolling.
  • Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Form errors are announced, tied to their field, and describe the fix rather than only the failure.

What is not done

The site has not yet been through a full audit with a screen reader user. Automated checks and manual keyboard testing catch a great deal and they do not catch everything.

That audit is planned before launch. Until it has happened, this page will say so.

Tell us

If something here is unusable, email hello@rz-collective.com with what you were trying to do and what happened. Accessibility bugs go to the front of the queue — they are not feature requests.
